Family webs

Last  Friday and Thursday we learned quite a bit about  something called family webs and the relationship between family members. I found this quite interesting  because it was a way as a marriage counselor I could see in my mind perhaps how the married couple act. When we talked about family webs we talked about rigid lines and clear lines and then some that were not there at all.  The rigid lines meant that a couple were together but there were some  problems that might be going on  in the marriage that makes them distant from one another. It was also interesting to see how when the relationship is rigid that sometimes people seem to gain distance from their spouse.

The next thing we talked about was the relationship that a clear line has. We likened that to a white picket fence where you have some bars but not a lot and people can see through it. Now thats not saying that one should publicly say what them and their spouse do all the time. The  clear line web is the type of relationship that shows that both of the members are open with each other.

In short this class  lessons this week really helped me to determine spot how relationship between family members are vital.

Every day this class gives me new perspectives on how family are to be and how one can have successful family.  I am always happy to learn in this class and how I can improve my family when I get there. I feel that these classes help me to understand how important family truly are to the world.

Kids and Family.

So in class we learned about the family demographics and the trends of  low birth rates and what is happening in the world. We learned that a lot of the world especially some countries in Europe have a very high declining birth rate.  A lot of families now a days including America are having maybe one to two children. In some people's minds that is not a bad little family, and its not. The thing is though that this trend is becoming more and more modern.

Now I think I should explain on where I am coming from though. You see I am from a family of seven, and I love large families so it is safe to assume I am going to have one as well. You see for me  bringing children into this world is a very very high calling. ( props to you moms and woman who wish to have children also for those who can't but adopt  my hat is tipped to you as well.)  I love large families and seeing this movie that we watched about how the fertility rate and birth rate are  dropping make me incredibly sad. Sad because I have  this love of family in my belief the bigger the better. For those of you who don't agree that's fine I speak of big families because I live in one ( even though I am away from them.)

Back to why this was important and why I found it interesting, I find that it just shows that  the family may becoming less and less important. That the self gratification generation has decided that children aren't for the them. It just saddens me that this may be where our generation goes to. The reason why I am so strong for family is because I am a Latter-Day Saint (or Mormon) Family is huge  to us both here on Earth but also  in the life after. We believe that families aren't just for this  Earth life, but that we can be with our families through all eternity.

The Family: A proclamation to the world.

This blog  is for the sole purpose of sharing information about the family. As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day saints I am posting what we as members believe  about the family. To us the family is very sacred and important part here on this earth life. This proclamation which you can read comes from the Church. This Proclamation was given to us by a prophet of God whose name was Gordon B. Hinkley ( 1910-2008)

THE FAMILY

A PROCLAMATION TO THE WORLD

WE, THE FIRST PRESIDENCY and the Council of the Twelve Apostles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, solemnly proclaim that marriage between a man and a woman is ordained of God and that the family is central to the Creator’s plan for the eternal destiny of His children.
ALL HUMAN BEINGS—male and female—are created in the image of God. Each is a beloved spirit son or daughter of heavenly parents, and, as such, each has a divine nature and destiny. Gender is an essential characteristic of individual premortal, mortal, and eternal identity and purpose.
IN THE PREMORTAL REALM, spirit sons and daughters knew and worshipped God as their Eternal Father and accepted His plan by which His children could obtain a physical body and gain earthly experience to progress toward perfection and ultimately realize their divine destiny as heirs of eternal life. The divine plan of happiness enables family relationships to be perpetuated beyond the grave. Sacred ordinances and covenants available in holy temples make it possible for individuals to return to the presence of God and for families to be united eternally.
THE FIRST COMMANDMENT that God gave to Adam and Eve pertained to their potential for parenthood as husband and wife. We declare that God’s commandment for His children to multiply and replenish the earth remains in force. We further declare that God has commanded that the sacred powers of procreation are to be employed only between man and woman, lawfully wedded as husband and wife.
WE DECLARE the means by which mortal life is created to be divinely appointed. We affirm the sanctity of life and of its importance in God’s eternal plan.
HUSBAND AND WIFE have a solemn responsibility to love and care for each other and for their children. “Children are an heritage of the Lord” (Psalm 127:3). Parents have a sacred duty to rear their children in love and righteousness, to provide for their physical and spiritual needs, and to teach them to love and serve one another, observe the commandments of God, and be law-abiding citizens wherever they live. Husbands and wives—mothers and fathers—will be held accountable before God for the discharge of these obligations.
THE FAMILY is ordained of God. Marriage between man and woman is essential to His eternal plan. Children are entitled to birth within the bonds of matrimony, and to be reared by a father and a mother who honor marital vows with complete fidelity. Happiness in family life is most likely to be achieved when founded upon the teachings of the Lord Jesus Christ. Successful marriages and families are established and maintained on principles of faith, prayer, repentance, forgiveness, respect, love, compassion, work, and wholesome recreational activities. By divine design, fathers are to preside over their families in love and righteousness and are responsible to provide the necessities of life and protection for their families. Mothers are primarily responsible for the nurture of their children. In these sacred responsibilities, fathers and mothers are obligated to help one another as equal partners. Disability, death, or other circumstances may necessitate individual adaptation. Extended families should lend support when needed.
WE WARN that individuals who violate covenants of chastity, who abuse spouse or offspring, or who fail to fulfill family responsibilities will one day stand accountable before God. Further, we warn that the disintegration of the family will bring upon individuals, communities, and nations the calamities foretold by ancient and modern prophets.
WE CALL UPON responsible citizens and officers of government everywhere to promote those measures designed to maintain and strengthen the family as the fundamental unit of society.
This proclamation was read by President Gordon B. Hinckley as part of his message at the General Relief Society Meeting held September 23, 1995, in Salt Lake City, Utah.
I add my voice and testimony to the Proclamation that was given. I know that families are Ordained of God and that it is through our families we can go and live with our Heavenly Father. I know that the Church Of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the true and living church upon the earth, and it was restored by his prophet Joseph Smith Jr. I know that the Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ it has blessed my life and I know that through its teaching it can bless yours.
